There are many different options of places to stay in Platamonas, as it's very popular for tourists. From hotels to rented studios and apartments, you can choose whatever suits you best. So feel free to explore the internet for many varied and beautiful options!
Nevertheless, we have ourselves visited four hotels that cover a range of prices and styles, that we could comfortably recommend.
Important things to know about Greek hotels:
- the rooms almost always come with breakfast included, and also sometimes with dinner. Ask about this when booking for possible discounts.
- bathrooms are often in traditional basic Greek style, and very rarely have bathtubs, instead prioritising Italian-style showers.
- for families, every hotel offers 'family rooms' with 1 double bed and 1-2 single beds for children. Another thing worth asking about when booking if you have children.
Hotel Dias and Hotel Morfeas are located in the very centre of the town. They are pleasant with friendly staff (the ones we met at least!) but they don't have a swimming pool. We'd imagine that they are perfect for couples, or people that prefer to walk everywhere, and discover the beautiful surroundings. Obviously, the beaches are very close also. Prices range between 70 (double bedroom) to 110 (family) euros.
On the higher end price-wise is the Hotel Kronos, again right in the centre, and with a swimming pool. They have four apartments (comprising 2 rooms, living room, kitchen etc) for 201 euros per night with breakfast. They also offer double (135 euros) and family (173 euros) rooms. The hotel has a 5 nights minimum stay policy.
SunBeach Hotel (where we will have our welcoming dinner) is situated on the edge of the town, with a beautiful pool and also direct access to the sea. Having spoken with the owners, they are offering our wedding guests the following deal for a minimum 7 nights booking (until 29th February). We're still negotiating something better, so will keep you updated.
- with breakfast, 103.50 euros (double) and 122 euros (triple)
- with breakfast and dinner, 112.50 (double) and 132.50 (triple)
There are also many cheaper rooms and studios to rent in Platamonas and the next towns, Neio Poroi and Neio Panteleimonas. These might well be available online (airbnb etc) but we also have some contacts that could be interesting particularly for singles/couples or people with cars.
